Parents play a vital role in the progress of the young people who attend World.

It is important that there is a two-way relationship between parents and World and parents are welcome to contact Martin ([email protected] / 07377404459) if you have any concerns or if you would like to share any information which will help us to support your son.

In return you can expect World to educate and care for your son to the highest level and we will keep you regularly updated with your son’s progress.

Parent/Carer Consent Form

Your son will be transported to and from activities and/or from home/school, these times and destinations may differ from day to day depending on activity. The usual mode of transport will be Private Hire Taxi and World Minibus, however other modes of transport may include; walking, public Transport (Bus, Metro, Ferry and Train) hired minibus and staff member’s private cars.
Your son will take part in a variety of activities during his WORLD placement, these include (but are not limited to):
 Outdoor Cooking
 Go Karting
 Rock Climbing
 Inflatables / obstacle Course
 Trampoling & Gymnastics
 Ball Sports
 Hiking/Orienteering
 Shelter Building/Camp Skills
 Skate park (Skate Board/Scooter or BMX)
 Mountain Biking
 Racquet Sports
 Fitness, Weight and Cardio Exercises.
 Swimming/’splodging’
 Shooting Activities (archery, cross-bows, pistols, rifles and Tomahawks)
Your son may be photographed and/or video recorded during his WORLD placement; these photos may be used for a variety of different reasons including: Website, Facebook, Advertising Materials including flyers/posters/business cards/banner and Reporting to Schools.
My son has the following dietary requirements that staff need to be aware of:
Because of the nature of the various practical activities we participate in on a daily basis, unfortunately your son may experience a medical emergency. In the event of this happening the staff will:
 Stop the activity
 Assess the casualty
 Administer FIRST AID
 Evaluate the next steps i.e home or hospital
 Inform the relevant people i.e school and home
 Fill in an ‘incident/accident’ report form
At WORLD we do not encourage or condone smoking, however we do understand some young people come to us already addicted to nicotine, in these instances we use our discretion with the young person. The buying or selling of tobacco products is strictly forbidden.
The following items are banned from WORLD and will be immediately confiscated, schools and/or authorities will be informed and this will result in a fixed term exclusion:
 Drugs including drugs paraphernalia
 Legal Highs
 Alcohol
 Weapons
 Foul & Abusive language toward staff
 Bullying
 Mobile phones MUST be handed in on a morning and given back at the end of the day. WORLD ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE!!!
The following will not be tolerated at WORLD, schools and/or authorities will be informed and this will result in a fixed term exclusion:
 Foul & Abusive language toward staff
 Threats or actions of violence toward staff or other students
 Bullying towards other students
 Damage of property
